New Marlborough Historical Society First Friday Programs

Starting in 2010, the New Marlborough Historical Society began offering evening programs of historical interest on the first Fridays of the months June to September. The subject matter ranged widely — from the Proprietors Records, establishing in 1735 the right to settle in Township No. 2 (later New Marlborough), to the golden age of mill production along the town’s three rivers, to 19th century architect Henry Sykes, designer of the New Marlborough Meeting House, to a sampling of the antic 1970s films of the Konkapot Big Boys. Since 2020, the series has been mostly in hiatus, waiting out the Covid pandemic. The Society hopes to resume its First Friday programs starting June 2023.
